Professor Mungin

MEET THE DIRECTOR

My name is Mrs. Mungin and I am the Choral Director for Lindley Sixth Grade Academy.  This is my 3rd  year at LSGA and my 21st year as a music teacher for Cobb County.  I received my B.S (Music Education) from Florida A&M University, M.M.E. (Music Education) from the Florida State University and my Ed.S. (Arts Integration and Curriculum and Instruction) from Lesley University. In addition to my degrees, I was Teacher of the Year in 2014-2015 and the 2020 Martin Luther King Jr., Humanitarian recipient.

I have a strong love for singing and a bigger love for my students. Students know that I expect excellence in music with every lesson. I play the piano, recorder and I sing.  I am also co-owner of King and I Productions, LLC where I run a summer music camp, assist teachers with their craft of teaching music and teach private vocal and piano lessons.

Besides being a choral director for Lindley I have help organize Honor Chorus for GMEA District XII and Large Group Performance Evaluation.  I am also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Fraternity for Women, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

I am originally from Jacksonville, FL but have lived in Atlanta for 21 years.  I am married  and my husband Charles lives for Falcons and Bulldog football. I love and adore my son Christopher and I play with my crazy and lovable dog Ella named after my favorite jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald.

WELCOME FUTURE LSGA FALCON CHORALE MEMBER!!
I am so excited that you are interested in joining chorus.  Just in case you don't know, chorus is where you SING but you will also learn how to make music with friends who also have a love for singing.

You will be embarking upon a very exciting time in your school career! 6th grade is your first year of exploring all art forms and you are fortunate to join one of Cobb County's premiere groups for singing.

This is an important decision and one that will dictate whether or not you will participate in world renowned music programs in our district! With Pebblebrook High School Center for the Performing Arts in your back yard the possibilities for advancing your career in singing are endless.  Choosing chorus today will afford you endless possibilities in the performing arts.

Chorus is a WONDERFUL opportunity for you to learn life skills that will help you make not only better grades in all your academic classes but also foster the importance of teamwork, work ethic, and commitment. Studies have shown for many years that chorus students continuously score higher on standardized tests, earn higher GPA’s, and even earn SCHOLARSHIP money for college!

By joining the LSGA FALCON CHORALE, you  will have the opportunity to learn an exciting new skill, have the opportunity to PERFORM for your friends and family, and begin to gain a lifelong love of music with a wonderful community of friends!

Now the fun doesn't end with just taking Chorus, you will also have the opportunity to join Band or Orchestra or choose Art and PE as your second Connections Class.

As your future Professor, I ask that you chose what you would like to explore and not what your friends are doing.  Chorus is a year long course and I would hate for you to miss out on a year of wonderful opportunities because you followed your friends.

BE GREAT AND JOIN THE FALCON CHORALE!

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me using the contact form below.

I can't wait to meet you and make beautiful music.

Sing-Cerely,
