  • Students engage in the creative process, open-ended inquiry, problem-solving, and aesthetic understanding through development and examination of their own art works, and the art works of others.

  • Students create artworks by applying media, techniques, and processes to formulate and express their own ideas and conceptual understanding. Media/techniques should include, but are not limited to, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, fiber arts, printmaking, and digital media art techniques.

  • Students make connections to other disciplines and to the world around them through the visual arts.  They inform their study and production of art by integrating information and skills from other disciplines and areas of knowledge such as math, reading, English language arts, social studies, science, world languages, music, dance, theater, physical education, career awareness, and technology into his or her artwork.

Class Overview

Art touches everything in our lives; from the clothes we wear, the furniture we use, to the places we live.  Art is not only on our walls and in museums.

My goal is to help your children understand an appreciate art, as well as offer them bright, vivid and colorful experiences.

The Lindley Art Department follows the Georgia Performance Standards; which include Meaning and Creative Thinking, Contextual Understanding, Production, Assessment, and Refection and Connections.
